Start-up Solar Energy Company: Are You Planning To Start A Rural Electrification Project In Nigeria?
These tips will be of benefit to you.
I was asked to share my thought on a case study that says
"If you are a director of a start-up renewable energy
company and you have secured funding from investors but
you find it difficult to access local expertise in renewable
energy, trained vendors, and technicians in a rural
community, what is your strategic planning process?
My strategic planning process will be:
1. Source for the youths in the community and organize a workshop on Solar energy, Product training, Customer Acquisition, and Data Collection.
2. Select among the trained youths, those that have technical experience, and train them on Solar product maintenance.
3. Retain these youths as your local staff to help you gather data, market, and sell the products, while the trained technicians will carry out maintenance when necessary.
4. You can also partner with the local SME business owners that have authority in that community who can be your product distributor, where the mobile vendors can pick up the product for sale.
I hope this was helpful?
Good luck!
